Thanks Forlorn-I was thinking about your paintings today actually, and maybe the past 3 days..The image of the naked woman in the grave yard keep popping into my mind..-My stuff is cartoons in comparison to yours..Just thinking about your work in admiration, and inspiration-Glad you wrote!!~Dave
I can't even express how much I like this (maybe 'cos I just woke up & my brain is still sideways). Tho' I'm missing the reference on Dora the Explorer's face - looks like an ugly Frida Kahlo...
Years back I was really into the whole JFK family thing & started a sketch of the Kennedy clan as a punk band on stage. Marilyn Monroe & Jackie O in the audience, Oswald as a roadie in back or a stage-diver, etc. And Jack & Bobby up front, guitar and bass, their bodies contorted in the positions they had when taken down. Yep, I dropped it for that lame reason, "what others would think", which is a hurdle stopping a lot of people's self-expression.
Yeah I often get sidetracked from expressing great veering-from-the-norm works by my confusion over public opinion..I guess bad taste is accepted if its pulled off in a really skilled manner..oh, and yeah you nailed it-Thats ugly Frida!haaaa!
yeahh-I think the van gough painting is entitled "starry night" but Im not sure..I just measured it, and its 2inches by 1 1/4 inch-Haaaa! Thanks for liking that part-It was fun to paint and thanks for the kind words-your work is awesome
